Now and again, Carlos and I head out to run errands that are beyond frustrating. When does anyone ever enjoy meeting with a CPA to chat about taxes? 🙄 But Carlos always knows how to make it a little more bearable by introducing me to a new experience. Our last outing included a stop for breakfast at Cuattro Casa de Cafe, and it was terrific. The name translates to Four Coffee House on Google, but I think there may be another meaning. Maybe the four main coffee types are Arabica, Robusta, Excelsa, and Liberica and all four of them have radically different taste profiles. Or it may reference the four ways that coffee is brewed at Cuattro Casa de Cafe; French press, pour-over, Espresso, and Moka pot. No matter the intention Cuattro Casa de Cafe is so much more than a coffee shop!
The first thing that stands out at this little coffee shop is the decor is adorbs! The next thing you realize, it isn't so small with a second level and a beautiful patio. I always wanted to have a double-seat bike, and the one hanging high above is a classic. The simple but modern design is sleek and fresh, with pops of color everywhere. The chalkboards signs all around describe teas, coffees, smoothies, and bake delights. Cuattro Casa de Cafe is pet-friendly, so don't forget to bring Fido. 🐶🐾
No matter what your coffee craving is, Cuattro Casa de Cafe can hook you up. Coffee, latte, espresso, cappuccino, even mako pot. It is popular to serve coffee brewed Mexican style with cinnamon and sugar. Cuattro Casa de Cafe has all the standard syrups to add flavor to your cup of caffeine.
Amaretto, French vanilla, roasted marshmallow, Irish cream, candy, hazelnut, cookie dough, coconut, roses, lavender, popcorn, eggnog, and of course Baileys! I am not too sure of some of these flavors, like popcorn or roses, but I am told they are amazing. Be sure to try one of their signature drinks like the Blue Matcha Latte. 💙. If coffee all day is your thing, Cuattro Case de Cafe is open until 9 pm making it a great stop any time of day. Mexican coffee is so special because most concoctions have alcohol. ☕️ Coffee in Mexico is served all day and especially after enjoying a sizeable late-night meal. A classic Spanish cocktail popular in Mexico, the Carajillo is made with espresso and Licor 43. I love 43! I've often enjoyed this cocktail while in Mexico, whether at a fancy restaurant or a coffee bar in Zihuatanejo.
Don't let the name Cuattro Casa de Cafe fool you; this place is so much more than a coffee shop with a fantastic bakery and cake shop! Yes, Let Us Eat Cake! The Unicorn Cheesecake and is as delicious as it is colorful. They have a fabulous selection of desserts, tarts, pastries, and sweetbreads that make for a great breakfast option to have brought into the villas. You can order cakes for special occasions, and they offer pickup and delivery. They also make the best bread ever! Keto doesn't stand a chance when warm, fresh-baked bollios or baguettes are on the table.
Cuattro Casa de Cafe's selection of breakfast dishes will make breakfast the most important meal of the day. The crepes filled just the way you request with any two; Nutella, strawberry, cajeta, strawberry jam, blackberry jam, cream cheese, milkmaid, and Plantain.
Cream and strawberry jam never tasted so good as wraps in a hot crepe with chocolate sauce on top. The French toast and waffles are stacked high and come with your choice of fresh toppings. 🍓 If eggs are your thing, get ready for some of the best omelets in Zihuatanejo.
If you aren't a breakfast person, don't fret. They serve a great selection of salads, sandwiches, pasta, and pizzas. The burgers are fat and filling which hand-cut French fries. Of course, no self-respecting cafe in Mexico would be complete without TACOS!
